The natural beauty that surrounds us here in Colorado offers a welcome respite to the hectic pace of modern life.

We interrupt this divisive political era to bring you a glimpse of the timeless beauty of our neck of the woods here in the foothills of the #Colorado Rocky Mountains. This is our neighbors’ pasture, across from Big Dawg Farms in Sedalia, outside of Castle Rock, Colorado. Frozen fog weaves beautiful lacy patterns on the branches and needles of our evergreens. Lavish white icy highlights showcase our bare-branched, yet hauntingly beautiful winter aspens and meticulously, artistically traces its way over each blade of grass and line of fencing.

This picture could have been taken 100 years ago instead of yesterday. The amazing natural beauty that surrounds us here in the national forrest has not changed, despite the frantic pace of residential and retail development in nearby areas. I hope that, 100 years from now, this vista remains pristine. Some things we should embrace, not resist, including the soul-renewing peaceful scenery of our Colorado landscape.
